2025 Goals for Happy Acorn Ventures
This year, I started an LLC as an adventure with my family: Happy Acorn Ventures. I set a revenue target for the year of $25,000. This buys me one work day every two weeks to work on my own stuff.
Alternatively, this is represented as $500 a week. Perhaps I won't make it fully to $25,000, but if I can repeatedly earn $500 a week, that gives me a $25,000 ARR, which is a good start.
I recommend most new entrepreneurial endeavors come up with two different target numbers. The above, annual revenue or ARR off of weekly income, is one of them. The second is minimal impactful income.
My target for minimal impactful income is $60 a month. That's enough to cover two things:
- the smallest monthly bill I can think of--my Apple Cloud costs
- a date or family dinner every month
I think any small business needs to target tangible benefit as soon as possible, and being able to cover these two costs would do that.
When I talked to Steph about this (as I think every entrepreneur should do before they get started) her goals were different.
Steph's targets were:
- Minimal Impactful Income: One utility: $75 / month
- Annual Goal: $300 / month
In my case, her goals were higher than mine for minimum impactful income, but lower for annual goals. Since minimum impactful income is actually more important (because it's how a family answers 'is this worth it'), we went with her number. I'll also track against her annual target as a progress number and a consolation prize if I don't make my own.
